We had a small situation last night that i think i got right but wanted to double check. We had 2 players go all in and a third call. The caller won the hand and as he easily covered the first two all-inners they were both knocked out, in 3rd and 4th place.
Who should have got the fourth place points and who the third place, as they both went out at the same time?
I said the 3rd place points goes to the person who had the most chips at the start of hand and the player with the least at the beginning of the hand gets 4th. Is this right?
We had one argument that it goes on the strength of that particular hand on who gets what, even though neither were strong enough to win the pot.
Can someone clear this up for next time? |

Yes that is correct. The player with the most chips at the start of the hand ranks higher.
I think if both players have the same chips, whoever is next in line to be big blind places lower, but I'd have to check that to be 100% sure. |

At Ricoh, (was Isle, now G Casino) The losing player starting the hand with more chips is ranked higher.
If both exiting players go into the hand with the same amount of chips then for tournaments where the rank is relevent for qualifying or league points, the criteria is the better of the losing hands is ranked higher.
However, where there is a prize that can be divided, in money, vouchers etc, the players get an equal share. |

@cplvicar.....did you check the situation for the above dilemma? We had this at my venue last night. 3 players all in, the 3rd all in player won but the 2 he knocked out had exactly the same number of chips and the exact same hand.
10 points can make all the difference come the end of season.
I've not come across this before but would love to know for future refence. |
