went to nottingham final yesterday and thort the tournament was run vry well, the card room manager did a gr8 job, kept the tables in order and split to fill others vry well, the food was awesum better than the plob at birmingham, just 2 things that i thort let it down were 1/.....101 people turn up to play poker at a casino, all buzzin 4 the game and wantin to overdose on poker,,,once you were out of the main tournament tryin to get a side game goin was pathectic, was told to write yr name on the board which was filling fast only to be told they hadnt got any dealers and you werent aloud to deal yourself, when we finaly did get a dealer after about an hour and a half of waitin he was the only 1,so the nxt 10 people on the list hat to wait 4 that game to finish b4 another cud start, thus people were scrubin there names out and going up the road to dusk till dawn,if i was a manger id be wantin to keep all these people in my casino spendin money so layin on a few extra dealers wud of paid for itself......
2/....did we really need an hr 4 the break,,,seem to drag 4 ages,,i just wanted to play poker, spoke to a few in casino area and they felt the same,i no you need time to eat but if the food had been out ready b4 the break was called i think 30mins wud of been enough time...

overall tho a gr8 day except 1 big thing...my poker play,,,,,cheers

Fort u did an excellant job evil weasel!! As did the the card room manager (forgot his name lol) completly after about disappointment a lack of dealers however I believe that's the casinos loss as people left earlier (some to go d2d) I hear the food was good so next time I won't have quite a big a breakfast :) overall I fort it was alot better then Birmingham (the cpl part that is) thanks evil weasel just pity my poker wasn't as good lol

Cheers
Twell, what a man, went home with near on 500 off the roulette tables. Couldn't believe it.
Still, 60 for 5th after getting away with a couple of outrageous all in's can't be bad :-) Hope you shared it with Joyce!
We hope to catch up with you at Bourne soon.

Yep, second that. Thanks for a well run Tourney. The blind levels worked well, table break downs happened fast and meal was very good!

Shame about the aircon at the start of the event though, maybe next time they should be warned in advance that they will be hosting a tourney.

Roulette voucher worked well for us, kept the wife entertained for a short while ( we are not as lucky as Steve Twell though ).

Only trouble now is that I want to do it all over again next week.

Pleased you enjoyed the day.

As the CPL rep' on the day I agree the dealer situation for side games was poor and when I requested additional dealers I was told there were none available. Just to clarify the starting numbers, 101 players were showing on the screen but we actually started with 99. I was told 2 players were on their way and would definately be there so the card room manager included them. These 2 players did not show up so their chips were removed from the tables. Once the tournament went live it was not possible to change the number of entrants. I wish they had turned up as it would then have given us an extra National Place! 30 mins for the food break would not have been long enough because the food was arranged for 3:30 it arrived at 3:45, getting 99 people through the queue would have left little time for those at the end of the queue to eat and have a bit of time spare before restarting, especially as the casino ran out of clean cutlery during serving! However the food was cracking, much better than Birmingham.

On the plus side I thought the day went pretty well, the vast majority of players signed out and I was able to update CPL records. Wandering around the card room It appeared everyone was enjoying the day even if the air con' wasn't great.

As an added bonus I was able to get all the players a free 5 voucher for a bet on roulette. I hope some of you made good use of it.
