A: Champions Poker League plays No-Limit Texas Hold'em poker. You'll earn points just for playing, with more points if you place in the top 16.

A: We are always pleased to hear about new venues and will even pay you £50 commission if the pub signs up! Just submit the details via the Contact us page or phone us at our offices and we will do the rest. You could even offer your services to run the first few poker evenings for the pub manager!

A: We list the basics of how to play pub poker on our website, but for more detailed tuition please don't be afraid to come along to one of our events, the tournament director and other players will be more than happy to teach you how to play.

A: Each pub chain which joins the Champions Poker League has the option to have their own sub-brand created exclusively for their venues. This allows a chain to offer special events and deals specifically to players from their venues, whilst still letting players compete as part of a larger league. All points from each sub-brand count towards the main Champions Poker League leaderboard.

A: No, point allocations are uniform across all sub-brands. You will not earn more points playing at one venue than playing at another.

A: Of course! We encourage our players to play in as many venues as possible, as it all goes towards their national leaderboard total, increasing their chances of qualifying through to our fantastic Quarterly and National Finals.

A: Don't worry, that's what our venue, averaged and online leaderboards are for. The top players from each pub, as well as the players with the highest average scores nationally and the top 20% of the online leaderboard will also get invited through to the quarterly finals, so playing regularly in one pub, scoring high or playing online can also give you a shot at qualifying.

A: By checking our leaderboards which have the top players listed. Point totals are updated as they are received and entered. All sub-brands use the main Champions Poker League site for their National, Averaged,Venue and online leaderboards.

A: We would prefer it if you did not, but we understand that Champions Poker League is an exclusively adult community so simply ask that you please keep it to a minimum.

A: Click on the ‘Forgot your password?’ link underneath the membership number field. This will take you to the password recovery screen. Simply enter your email address here and your password will be emailed to you, provided we have your email address on the database. If you don’t receive the email it is likely that your email address has not been correctly entered into the website. In this case please use the special form on the forgot your password screen to contact us and we will email you your password as soon as possible.

A: Updating the points is up to the tournament director or pub manager, not Champions Poker League itself. If your points have not yet been updated contact your tournament director or pub manager and remind them! Points submitted to us by post are entered on the day they are received, provided we can read them. Should illegible or incomplete points be received, there will be a delay in entering the points while we contact the venue.

A: Quarterly final winners will receive a notifying email or text message, provided the email and mobile phone numbers they provided when signing up to the league are correct. If you are not sure whether your details are correct, log in to your member area by entering your membership number and the password you were emailed when you signed onto the league and change your details there. Alternatively you can ask the pub manager who signed you up to the league to change your details or you can contact us with your membership number and name, giving us your current details and we will update our database accordingly. The full list of qualifiers will also be displayed on the front end of the website and available to the pub managers when they are entering tournament results.

National final qualifiers will usually be notified during the quarterly final in which they qualified, but will be sent reminder emails and text messages prior to the final itself, confirming their position.

A: Yes with quarterly finals taking place over two separate weekends then players have the option to attend any quarterly final of their choosing based on their own commitments.

A: The top 10% at each Quarterly Final (rounding up) will qualify for the National Final

A: Nothing. The National Final place does not roll down and the number of opponents the player has to face at the National is reduced by one. With a roll-down system there would be no reward for players who qualify twice and it would be easier for other players to qualify from Quarterly finals held later in the year rather than earlier. By not having a roll-down system we keep the finals fair across the board and reward our players who qualify twice by reducing their competition at the National Final.

A: In order to ensure that we have sufficient staff and equipment at each venue we need to know how many players will be attending a particular final. Also if the number of players at a final should exceed the card room limit, priority will be given to players who have pre-confirmed. The extra players will enter the tournament by use of the 'alternate' system, only joining the tournament as other players drop out. Therefore whilst it is not essential to confirm for a final before attending, it does help to ensure that you will not be disappointed.

A: If we have your correct email address on file you will receive an email should you qualify with confirmation buttons in it. Simply click the button for the final you wish to attend. Should you not receive the email for whatever reason, you can ask your pub manager or tournament director to confirm your attendance for you. If this is not possible for some reason, you can still confirm your attendance by emailing us at admin@championspoker.co.uk with your name, membership number and which final you will be attending, or by phoning us on 08456800012.

Once you have confirmed by one of the above methods, the final you have chosen will appear next to your name on our website's list of qualifying players and you will receive a confirmation email.

A: Again we need to know how many players will be attending the National Final in order to ensure sufficient staff and equipment is available, so we ask that you confirm your attendance prior to the final to avoid disappointment.

A: As with the Quarterly Finals an email will be send out with a confirmation button contained with it. You can also confirm by emailing admin@championspoker.co.uk.

A: According to the regulations regarding poker laid out by the UK Gambling Commission the maximum prize fund for a tournament held in a pub or similar venue is £100. We want to offer our players the biggest prizes we can, so we have teamed up with Grosvenor, Gala and Circus Casinos to hold our finals. In these casinos we are able to offer our players fantastic prizes and they have professional, experienced staff at all their venues to assist us in the running of our tournaments.

A: Yes you do have to join the casino. It is free to do so and you can do this on the day provided you bring photo ID with you. We recommend you enter your details into Grosvenor's online registration system at least 24 hours before the tournament starts when attending a Grosvenor venue, as this will vastly speed up the process.

A: Grosvenor Casinos do have a dress code as follows: no hoodies, no trainers, no football shirts. Gala Casinos have different dress codes at different casinos which can been seen on www.galacasino.co.uk, but most ask you to wear smart casual clothing and do not wear football shirts. Contact individual Circus Casino venues to find out their dress codes.

Only adults above the age of 18 will be allowed entry into a casino. No children, teenagers or pets will be allowed entry. You will need photo ID to join the casino, but once you have joined this will not be needed as you will be issued with a membership card.

If you do not have any photo ID but are over the age of 18 you can still join Grosvenor Casinos using a credit card by way of credit check, though please be aware this will cost £3.50 to perform.

A: No. No player substitutions will be allowed on the day of the final. Any players caught trying to play in the final as another player will be banned from the league permanently.

A: No. Champions Poker League Quarterly and National Finals are invitation only events and no offers by non-qualifying players to gain entry to the events will be accepted.
